I Only Have a Point & Shoot

Hey, don’t get down on yourself if all you have is a point & shoot. Don’t think less of yourself if you can’t pay the $$$ for a expensive SLR. As a matter a fact you can do quite well with a point & shoot if you work at it and if it has some features, see for yourself below;

I took this with my first digital a Sony Cyber Shot DSC-S75 which is only a 3.3 mega pixel. The price when I bought it, get this, $700.00 in about 2004. It does have SP & AP so I was able to get this shot with it. This was taken at Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. I did not have a tripod, but only a post to lean on. I bought the Cyber Shot to kind of match my Canon A2E film camera. I wanted to dabble with digital and chose this one. I will still use it today as a back up camera if need be for quick shots.So when my son Scott says “What Cha Packin ? ” I packin this one also, and proud of it..Has the prices gone down ? In Early March I bought cameras for our two granddaughters, I chose the Canon Power Shot A560 with a price tag of $150.00 It does not have SP & AP, but does have manual mode and is a 7.1 mega pixel by the way, not 3.3 like the Cyber Shot.Don’t be suckered in by all the hype from the sales person to get you to buy big mega pixels. Here is proof. If you can afford the big guns, buy them until then the little pea shooters will do just fine and get you some 5×7 and 8×10s.
OH, by the way, this photo was taken after dark, the sky was black, but not pitch black. I took it just before the sky was totally black and prayed the girl would not move because she did not know I was taking the picture.
If you can’t afford a good SLR and hope to, keep on keeping on and work at it and you will arrive. Until then if all you have is a fairly good Point & Shoot, be proud and go for the gusto, you can do it.
Happy Shooting, Aim Right, Shoot Straight, go for the Kill and bag it.Happy Hunting.Tim Denny
